Are you guys still shipping?

Yes, our warehouse is still up and running! We'll still be providing top notch chocolates for you

You may experience a slight delay in delivery times for shipment around Singapore, and an extra day or two (sometimes more) for international shipments from additional regulations and high volumes of deliveries. This is due to the enhanced safety plans in place to ensure the safety of all individuals involved in the process. 

We will not ship packages if we did not think it was safe. We have been closely monitoring guidance and regulations from the authorities of Singapore. Currently, the belief is that there is very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. There has not been any cases of COVID-19 in Singapore associated with imported goods. You can view the Singapore Infectious Diseases Act here or check current updates here.

If you no longer have access to your work address/original delivery location due to COVID-19 and you need to re-route your in transit shipment please contact support@hellochocolate.com as soon as possible and we’re happy to work towards a resolution.

Dark chocolate by definition is a type of chocolate made without milk (completely vegan!). They only contain cacao beans, cacao butter, and sugar. The healthier versions of dark chocolates contain a relatively higher cacao percentage of 70% and above. 100% chocolate is a type of dark chocolate made purely of cacao and cacao butter, and does not contain any sugar or milk at all. It is intensely bitter and is usually for someone who has specifically tried 100% chocolate and knows what they are expecting.

Milk chocolate is made with cacao beans, cacao butter, sugar, and milk. They tend to be sweeter and are of lower cacao percentage than dark chocolates. Dark milk chocolate is, in a nutshell, milk chocolate for dark chocolate lovers. Dark milk chocolates contain a higher cacao content than traditional milk chocolates and tend to be creamier than pure dark chocolates due to the addition of milk. 

White chocolate is made of cocoa butter, sugar, milk solids, and vanilla which are largely the same as those in milk chocolate, but without the cocoa portion of the chocolate liquor. Cocoa butter makes up 50% of the cocoa bean while the other 50% is cacao nibs. Therefore, people that disqualify white chocolate as not “real chocolate” are really just quibbling. We suggest just enjoying white chocolates as they are and also eat the portions of those who are still busy debating.

Our chocolates are halal-friendly but not certified. There is no pork or lard used in any of the chocolates, and chocolates with alcohol will be stated in the product names. The reason why there aren’t certifications is mainly due to certifications being unnecessary or unavailable in the country of production.

Technically, all classic dark chocolates are vegan! We also have a tab specifically for vegan chocolate products as well as a vegan gift set specially made for our vegan chocolate lovers.

No, we sell chocolates!

Yes! By including the Furoshiki wrap in your cart, all the chocolates in the cart will automatically be wrapped in the wrapping linen. If you only want certain chocolates to be wrapped, then please indicate it in the notes section. Gifts will also come with a brown lettered card saying one of the following: “Hello”, “Thank You”, “Happy Birthday”, “Love You”, “Thinking of You”, “For the Best Dad”, “For the Best Mama”, “Stay Home, Stay Safe”, or “Get Well Soon”. You can either request for a specific card in the notes section, or we will pick an appropriate one depending on your gift message for the recipient.

You can find this option to customize your gift messages and/or include special delivery instructions in your cart after adding your chocolates. Gift messages can be anything from "Surprise!" to some sexy ones we've seen like "Check under the bed for a special surprise ;)". Happy gifting!

"Special instructions" is the section for special delivery instructions where you need the delivery person to take note of. This can be found in your Cart page, after gift messages. Examples include "please call xxxx xxxx when at the guard house". 

For same day deliveries, orders MUST be placed before 11am of the same day. Deliveries will be made for these items before 6pm. There are no same day deliveries for the weekend!

Deliveries for Saturdays will have to be placed before 6pm on Friday. There are no deliveries on Sundays. Sorry!

Self-collection is now available! Place your orders online and select “self-collection” when prompted under “shipping”. You can collect your orders from Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm at the following location:

Hello Chocolate Membership will be a monthly subscription to discounted chocolates with a small membership fee. This membership fee will be in the form of a deposit, where you will be able to utilize the full amount to purchase chocolates at a lower price compared to non-members! 

Single-origin and single-estate are very similar.

In essence, single-origin chocolate means that the chocolate was produced using cacao beans grown from one specific place or "origin". This may not sound unique, until you are aware that most mass-produced chocolates are made with cacao beans sourced from multiple different countries creating "blends". Most of the chocolates offered on Hello Chocolate are made with single-origin cacao beans, 

Single-estate on the other hand, are even more special and rare, as these refer to cacao beans that are grown on a single plantation! More often than not, these premium cacao beans are grown and harvested in a very specific and tailored way to produce a very distinct taste. We offer these chocolates as well, check out Bonnat Chocolatier for an assortment of award-winning single-estate bars! 

You’ve probably heard of wine flights, ever heard of a chocolate flight? Like its indulgent counterpart, the flavor profile of your single-origin chocolate depends on where the cacao beans were grown. This is what is known as "terroir".

If you'd like to really understand terroir without committing to a full-sized bar, try our Pralus' Latin America Pyramid of 5 x 50g bars made with single-origin cacao grown from some of the best countries in the world for cacao beans: Peru, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Brazil.
